Bay Area Democrats is a multi-interest political organization that provides its members with one thing—opportunities. You choose how you support the organization, and we provide you with high quality events and opportunities unparalleled in the Bay Area. We serve members in the nine Bay Area counties who want to stay involved in Democratic politics and support candidates in a meaningful way.
Review your membership payment options below, and join today— click here! Once you have paid membership dues, you will receive an email from a B.A.D. staff member verifying your membership. If you are not already on our free “BAD News” email distribution, your email will be added to our BAD listserv and you will be eligible to attend certain events for free.
Levels of Membership
General Supporter Membership – $150 / Young Professional Membership (35 and Under) $100
By supporting our PAC with an annual membership, your contribution goes to help the candidates that need the most assistance. You’ll also receive regular updates and notice of opportunities to attend exclusive events and meet candidates when they come through town – some free and others at a reduced B.A.D. rate. Recent examples of events free and open to our dues paid membership include a breakfast discussion with Congressman Paul Hodes and an evening reception with Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.
Emerging Leader Membership – $500
Emerging Leaders receive all the benefits of regular membership plus receive early notification about limited-availability B.A.D. events and the opportunity to purchase tickets to these events before the general public. Additionally, they have the opportunity to utilize our extensive email lists (both paid members and B.A.D. interested individuals) to share with our membership two events per year in the area. Emerging Leaders recently received special early notification and discounted pricing for a concert featuring members of the Grateful Dead and benefiting Senator Barbara Boxer.
County Leader Membership $1,000
In addition to the benefits of our PAC and Emerging Leader memberships, County Leaders have the opportunity to share a greater number of events each year with our extensive membership email lists. You’ll also be included in smaller events with candidates of interest. In the past few months, County Leaders attended an intimate discussion with White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina about the state of healthcare negotiations in Washington DC and had lunch with Senator Kay Hagan.
Major Donor / Board Membership $10,000
Members of our Board help strengthen our PAC so that we can effectively support candidates across the country. Board Members also play an active role in hosting events for candidates at all levels, and enjoy the support of our organization in raising the money needed to pull off a successful event. As a Board Member, you can feel comfortable knowing that when you commit to raising for an event, you will get the notice you need and the support that is necessary to execute fundraisers that are the trademark of any race.
Like County Leaders, your input and interest in crucial in what races we support. Recently, Board Members attended a special Bay Area Democrats delegation trip to Washington DC to meet with Members of Congress and Administration officials and dined with Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Barbara Boxer in support of the Senator’s re-election campaign.
