Bay Area Democrats is Northern California's pre-eminent political organization, serving individuals who wish to participate in all facets of local, state, and national politics.
Taking back the Senate and winning the presidency in 2016 will require a rigorous effort by peer-groups such as ours to organize the area's vast network of Democrats. Our members and Board of Directors have deep experience that allow us to make an impact on key races and policy areas that are central to the Democrat Party's platform. We host a variety of events and meetings that allow our members to engage in close and meaningful interaction with leaders and elected officials. Members also enjoy professional staffing and leveraged participation usually reserved for top donors and interest groups.
Your annual membership entitles you to free admission to many events, and helps us host and organize events for critical Democratic candidates each cycle.

Membership levels
General Supporter Membership – $199 (discounted student rates available)
By supporting our PAC with an annual membership, your contribution goes to help the candidates that need the most assistance. Regular updates of exclusive events are given to Bay Area Democrats (BAD) members to meet candidates visiting the area. Some events are free and others at a reduced BAD rate. BAD members also get to participate in conference calls with many members of Congress and high level officials. BAD is able to offer these opportunities to our members free of charge, and represents the great value of maintaining a membership with our organization.
Emerging Leader Membership – $500
Emerging Leaders receive all the benefits of a regular membership plus receive early notification about limited-availability B.A.D. events, and the opportunity to purchase tickets to these events before the general public. Additionally, they have the opportunity to utilize our extensive email lists (of both paid members and B.A.D. interested individuals) to share with our membership, two events per year in the area. Emerging Leaders recently received special early notification and discounted pricing for the events held during President Obama’s trip to the Bay Area.
County Leader Membership $1,000
In addition to the benefits of our PAC and Emerging Leader memberships, County Leaders have the opportunity to share a greater number of events each year with our extensive membership email lists. You’ll also be included in smaller events with officials and candidates of interest. Recently, County Leaders met with advisors to the Obama White House for a discussion on the state of the economy and how the Obama Administration plans to manage the challenges ahead.
Major Donor / Board Membership $10,000
Members of our Board help strengthen our PAC so that we can effectively support candidates across the country. Board Members also play an active role in hosting events for candidates at all levels, and enjoy the support of our organization in raising the money needed to pull off a successful event. As a Board Member, you can feel comfortable knowing that when you commit to raising for an event, you will get the notice you need and the support that is necessary to execute fundraisers that are the trademark of any race.
Like County Leaders, your input and interest is crucial in what races we support. In recent months, Board Members have hosted a number of Senators and Congressmen in and around San Francisco, including Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN). BAD Board Members play a vital role in the campaigns of many democratic politicians, thereby gaining personal access to some of the country’s top elected officials.
